Marija is a world-class mechanical engineer, with over 25 years of experience designing and commissioning mechanical systems for a wide range of building types, military vessels, and cruise ships, and a true green building pioneer. Graduated in Mechanical Engineering, at the University of Genoa, Italy, and at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. She is a leading representative of the Green buildings movement.
Being a LEED AP since 2008, USGBC Faculty™ since 2011 and LEED Fellow™ since 2017 she participated in numerous Green building projects throughout Europe as a designer, consultant and Process Administrator.
She administered the certification of the first LEED CS Project in Italy (Gold Level), and in Serbia (Gold Level), and one of the few certified shopping centers in Europe (Usce). In Italy she also administered the Vodafone Village (the largest LEED-certified building in Italy and LEED CI in the world) and also introduced the first LEED for Homes pilot project in Europe. She is the one the first LEED for Homes Green Raters.
She has developed several Green building professional training courses and trained over 500 LEED professionals all over the world.
From the 2016 she is holding the European WELL AP and the WELL Faculty™ accreditation.
Marija is a sought-after keynote Speaker at the international level and the first president of the Serbia Green Building Council (2010-2013).
